School Hours
Fall/Winter/Spring:
Monday through Friday - 8:30a.m. to 8:30p.m.
Saturdays - 8:30a.m. to 2p.m. & Sundays, 12 noon to 6:30p.m.
Summer:
Monday through Friday - 9a.m. to 5p.m.
Saturdays & Sundays - CLOSED
Check
In & Security
All persons entering the building MUST enter through the doors at 29 High Street
and stop at the front desk to identify themselves when they enter the School.
ALL students must sign in before entering the School's classrooms. In order
to ensure student safety and building security, all others (unless they are
faculty, staff, or volunteers who have had a CORI Criminal Background check)
must wait in the lobby.
Pick Up Times
ALL parents MUST arrive to pick up their children no later than the scheduled
end of class time and no later than scheduled building closing times. A fee
of $50 per quarter hour will be assessed for families who arrive later than
the end of building closing times to pick up students. Please be on time.
Attendance
The School must be notified of
any student or faculty absence no later than 10a.m. on the
day of the lesson. Unexcused
absences will NOT be made up.
Only ONE excused absence per student will be allowed per semester. One
make up week at the end of the semester is designated
for make up lessons. Make
ups may not be scheduled at any other time. Students must attend their
scheduled make up class or forfeit the make up class.
Faculty must make up all classes
they miss.
Parking
Parking is available in the lot
in front of the School for a nominal hourly fee or on the
street at public meters.
There is no parking fee for anyone
stopping briefly at the School door to drop off or to pick up a student.
School visitors are asked not to park in any reserved space and to cooperate
with parking attendants at all times.
Cancellations
Classes cancelled due to inclement
weather or other unforeseeable circumstances will be made
up during make up week at
the end of the Fall and Winter/Spring
semesters ONLY. PASOW will announce School closings on WTAG 580 AM and
will post a sign on the front door of the School to notify
students and families.
In the case of teacher illness, we will contact the student or family in
advance of class. Students and parents are encouraged to contact PASOW
for information about School closings during bad weather.
The School will make
up all classes it cancels due to inclement weather or other unforeseeable
circumstances at no extra charge.
Standard of Behavior
All faculty, students,
staff, volunteers, parents, and visitors are expected to
behave in a courteous, lawful
manner while at the School or its performance
sites and to observe School policies as outlined at all times. No horseplay,
unauthorized interruption of classes, aggressive behavior or speech, sexually
offensive behavior, theft, vandalism, smoking, use of alcohol or drugs,
littering on or around the School building or property,
or unauthorized use of the
School building or property will be tolerated. Any person who does not
observe this standard will be asked to leave the premises.
Any student, volunteer,
or staff person who breaks these roles more than once may be asked to leave
the School permanently.
All faculty, staff, and volunteers must undergo a CORl, or Criminal Background
check, to be approved for work in the School building or at School performances.
Class Observation Week
Parents may observe
classes ONLY during Class Observation Week, which is the
last week of classes during the Fall
and Winter/Spring semesters. All parents/guardians
wishing to observe classes must contact the appropriate Division Director
(Dance, Music, or Theatre) or Executive Director to schedule time to watch
a specific class. Filming or photography of any kind is not allowed during
any class. Exceptions to the observation policies are the Suzuki violin
and fiddle programs, in which parents often are required
to attend class witb
their child. Parents or guardians of students with disabilities are encouraged
to contact the appropriate Division Director (Dance, Music, or Theatre)
or the Executive Director discuss special needs.
No parent
or other person may interrupt, film, or photograph any
class at any time, as it interferes
with the educational process and in some cases can cause
injury to faculty and students. Should you have an emergency
or a medical reason for needing to observe or interrupt
your child's class, please contact the Registrar, the
appropriate Division Director, or the Executive Director.
Parents,
volunteers, and visitors are invited and encouraged to
attend all scheduled School performances ín
order to observe their child's progress. Flash photography
and filming with lights is prohibited at performances
to
ensure the safety and comfort of performers.
